Why choose us?
It was 6:45 AM at BOM Airport. A mild panic gripped Anika, a college student from Mumbai. She had packed an extra duffel of gifts and souvenirs after her semester —only to be told at the check-in counter that her baggage was 10 kilograms over the limit and needed to head home.
The airline wanted to charge her approx. ₹5800 + GST.
Disheartened, she opened the Tip my Trip App, something her roommate had recommended. In seconds, she entered her flight details and posted a baggage request. Just minutes later, a notification pinged:
“You’ve been matched with Ravi, a fellow passenger on the same flight to Mumbai. He has 12kg of unused allowance.”
They messaged each other through the app. Ravi, a consultant flying home after a client meeting, was happy to help—he rarely checks in bags and liked the idea of offsetting his travel costs compared to the airlines.
They met at the Airline Counter. Anika showed Ravi what she was sending. The app prompted them to confirm handoff. The funds stayed in escrow until delivery.
Ravi checked in the duffel. In Mumbai, Anika collected it right after landing at the baggage carousel. She tapped “Delivered” in the app, and Ravi received his payout instantly.
Two strangers. One app. A win-win.
That day, Anika saved money. Ravi earned some. And both walked away with trust in a system built to make air travel smarter and more collaborative.
